Bronze Medallion and Cross Examiners

The Lifesaving Society appoints Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross Examiners. Examiner candidates are experienced Lifesaving Instructors who undergo specific training in examination standards and apprenticeship. Bronze Medallion Examiners are empowered to certify Bronze Medallion candidates. Bronze Medallion Examiners are empowered to certify Bronze Cross candidates.

Lifesaving Instructors should first gain experience teaching Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross before applying for Examiner appointment.

Prerequisites: Lifesaving Instructor certification; teaching experience in the award the Instructor wishes to be appointed to examine; Examination Standards Clinic; Society approval.

Candidate recognition: Certification card.

Costs: There is no Lifesaving Society fee for the Examination Standards Clinic. Certification fee payable to the Lifesaving Society upon submission of the Examiner Training Record.

Recertification: Examiners remain current by recertifying within 24 months of the last certification date. Recertification is through the Society's professional development credit system.
